Remove drawings for a tidy project
Good news! It is now possible to delete drawings in Ed Controls, provided there are no active tickets or linked items attached to them. This keeps your project environment clear and up-to-date.
When can you delete a drawing?
- Admins can delete drawings no matter how long ago they were added.
- Accountable and Support users can delete drawings created within the past 14 days.
- A drawing can only be deleted if there are no active tickets associated with it.
If you try to delete a drawing that still has a ticket attached, or if you are a Support user trying to delete an older drawing, you will get a clear error message.
Smart and safe removal
Drawings can be deleted through the list view or with the bulk delete function. With bulk deletion, Ed Controls automatically checks which drawings and files meet the conditions. Only these are actually deleted. The rest remain with a notification as to why deletion was not possible.
Useful: when deleting a drawing, it also automatically checks whether the linked file is still being used elsewhere. If not, the file is also deleted. This prevents unnecessary storage of unused documents.
What do you see as a user?
- A trash can icon near drawings that can be deleted.
- A warning message before confirmation.
- A clear message afterwards: “Drawings successfully deleted.”
- Deleted drawings are no longer visible in the tickets and audit modules, and are no longer included in mobile apps.
This update gives you more control over your project data and makes it easier to keep order in your environment.
