How do I upload drawings or files in the mobile app?

In the Ed Controls mobile app, you can easily upload drawings and files via the Library. That means you don’t have to switch to the web version to set up your project or add documentation.

You upload via the Library tab within your project.
Note: The upload option isn’t visible when you’re offline.

Upload a file or drawing via the mobile app

  1. Open the Ed Controls app.
  2. Go to the correct project.
  3. Go to the Library tab.
  4. Tap Upload file.

Select a group

  • Choose the group where you want to place the file or drawing.
  • Don’t have a group yet? You can create one straight away.
  • Already filtered to a specific group? Then this step is skipped.

Choose the upload type

Choose what you want to upload:

  • Upload file
  • Upload drawing
    No option is preselected—you choose.

Select a file or drawing

Add files using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. You can:

  • Take a photo with your camera
  • Select an image
  • Choose a file from your device

Check the selected files in the overview.
Want to remove something? Tap the X next to the file.
You can also add extra files.

Start the upload

Tap Upload to start the process.
You’ll see a message that the upload is in progress.

When uploading a drawing

  • The drawing is converted so you can place tickets on it.
  • You’ll see a message while the drawing is being converted—this may take a moment.
  • Once it’s ready, you’ll get a confirmation and can navigate straight to the file.

When uploading a file

  • After uploading, you’ll get a confirmation that the file was successfully added to the selected group.

Convert to drawing

Uploaded a file earlier and want to use it as a drawing after all?

  1. Open the file in the Library.
  2. Choose Convert to drawing.
  3. Wait for the conversion to finish.
  4. You’ll receive a notification once the conversion is completed successfully.

After uploading

Once the upload is complete, your drawings or files are immediately available in the project’s Library.
